Self-remediation, automation, and deeper real-time insights: our top 3 trends for 2026

Our last blog looked at some of the topline predictions for the EMM sector in 2026. But which are the ones that are really set to make the biggest mark in the coming year?

We’ve picked out the three that we think have the most potential to really change the face of EMM.

1. Self-remediation: from alerts to autonomous recovery

The next generation of EMM systems won’t be limited to simply flagging issues; they’ll be able to proactively and automatically resolve them on-device. That means they won’t have to rely on support staff or external input from servers, which will be a major boon for organisations operating devices in remote locations or otherwise out of range.

The role of specialist EMM providers will be critical in this, as whichever platform is selected – Apple’s Declarative Device Management is one, but there are many others – it will only perform as well as the way in which it’s configured.

At Subsidium we can choose the most appropriate model for you, then embed it in each device and apply local policies or AI models. This will allow each device to rapidly and autonomously detect and self-correct common faults such as failed app updates, configuration drifts, or security compliance breaches, with no need for administrator intervention.

The net effect of this will be a huge reduction in helpdesk tickets and downtime, especially in distributed or field-based environments, cutting spend on support overhead while maximising uptime and overall productivity in your organisation.

2. Automation

We’re all aware of the Internet of Things, where individual devices are connected to thousands or even millions of others worldwide. That means EMM solutions are no longer isolated systems; they’re now core software solutions.

EMM solutions, monitoring systems, CRMs and asset solutions: all of these are already connecting more and more deeply, and this is only set to increase, creating a more synchronous and autonomous ecosystem.

Meanwhile, automation across EMM will mirror the existing trend with workflow tools such as power automate or n8n, triggering complete policy-driven workflows when specific conditions are met.

For example, Subsidium will be able to configure a lost device to automatically lock, send its location, wipe sensitive data, and create a service ticket in the IT service management (ITSM) platform.

Once again, the burden on helpdesks will be lightened, so EMM providers can focus on adding value for customers through exception handling and strategic projects, rather than purely reactive tasks.

3. Deeper Real-Time Insights

Harnessing data then convert it into valuable information which can inform operational decision-making has never been more crucial in the drive for commercial advantage.

Modern devices generate vast quantities of data, whether it’s technical details such as CPU, network and battery usage, or data on how devices are being used.

And thanks to the continued rapid evolution of EMM software tools, we’re now reaching a point where we will have real-time visibility of this data, enabling observation of behavioural and performance anomalies as they happen.

Combining this intelligence with the latest analytics tools, Subsidium can add further value by predicting potential issues and acting to counter them before they impact the end user, whether that takes place autonomously or via an IT support mechanism.

The applications for this are vast, whether in analysing battery health on mobile devices used in warehouses to extract maximum life from batteries and minimise disruption caused by their replacement, or providing insight into cellular signal quality and data usage trends to aid operational decision-making for organisations managing large fleets of mobile devices across regions.
